Meet Beans, a tiny dachshund with a massive personality.

Living with her parents, Megan and Stephen, Beans has mastered the art of canine communication.

She doesn’t just bark or wag her tail to get her point across.

Instead, she uses her incredibly expressive face to get exactly what she wants, whenever she wants it.

Eyes That Pop

The first thing anyone notices about Beans is her gaze.

Megan notes that she has never seen a dachshund with eyes that pop out quite as much as Beans’ do.

She uses those big, bulbous eyes to stare down everybody in the house.

Stephen compares her intense gaze to an awkward encounter at a bar with someone who has had a little too much to drink.

“You turn, and they’re still staring at you,” Stephen jokes, adding that you can just tell she is judging you.

While Beans might judge most people, she has made her household preferences very clear.

When it comes to her favorite human, Stephen wins paws down.

“He is her man,” Megan admits, noting that Beans sees Stephen as her exclusive property.

Her love for her dad is so intense that she stares at him with pure adoration, constantly waiting for him to pet her.

No Hand-Holding Allowed

Beans takes her role as Stephen’s leading lady very seriously.

In fact, she is so protective of her dad that she won’t even let Megan hold Stephen’s hand.

The contrast in how she treats her two parents is hilariously stark.

After staring lovingly at Stephen, Beans will turn to look at Megan, and as Megan puts it, “there’s nothing there.”

The Chicken Nugget Trade

Megan knows exactly where she stands in the household hierarchy.

She jokes that Beans’ loyalty to her is incredibly fragile.

“She would trade me for a chicken nugget,” Megan laughs.

Given the choice between her mom’s unconditional love and a tasty fried snack, Beans wouldn’t even hesitate.

The Firework Whine

When staring doesn’t work, Beans resorts to her signature vocalizations.

Her parents call her special complaint the “firework whine.”

It starts as a low build-up, much like the whistle of a firework right before it pops.

To make sure her message is received, Beans will deliberately look back at her parents while she whines.

She wants to make absolutely sure they know it is their fault she is upset.

Spoiled And Loved

Despite all the attitude, the judgment, and the dramatic stares, Beans is the center of her family’s world.

“Beans is one of the most dramatic dogs I know, but we love her,” Megan says.

Her parents agree that she is simply the best dog.

They already spoil her rotten, and they happily admit they will continue to do so—even when she is being completely naughty.
