Virginia Dog Returned Twice By Fosters Finally Finds The Family He Was Waiting For
Moose had a painful leg and a history of being returned, but his third foster home changed everything when he met his new family.
A Heartbreaking History

For a sweet dog named Moose, finding a forever family seemed like an impossible dream.
He had already been through two different foster homes, and both times, he ended up being returned.
To make matters worse, Moose was dealing with a severe medical issue that left him in constant pain.
It was clear that this special boy just needed someone willing to give him the time and patience he deserved.
Painful Medical Notes

Moose’s struggles were documented in heartbreaking detail.
His medical notes from early November stated that he was refusing to bear any weight on his right hind leg.
The pain was so significant that he didn’t even want to get up much at all.
He eventually required a major surgery to amputate the painful leg, leaving him as a tripod dog.
The Third Try

Hoping the third time would be the charm, a woman named Hailey and her boyfriend, Logan, decided to step up.
“We went into it, ‘Oh, we’re gonna foster him,'” Hailey recalled.
They wanted to give Moose a safe place to recover from his surgery and decompress from his past rejections.
They had no idea how quickly the sweet dog would capture their hearts.
Becoming A Shadow

From the moment he arrived, Moose made his preferences known. He found immense comfort in Logan, bonding with him almost instantly.
“He really only cares about me if Logan isn’t here,” Hailey joked.
Moose quickly became Logan’s shadow, following him everywhere he went and seeking his gentle reassurance.
Spoiled From Day One

Hailey and Logan wanted to make sure Moose knew he was safe and loved.
On his very first day with them, they treated him to a special pup cup.
Moose eagerly enjoyed the sweet treat, showing a glimpse of his happy, goofy personality.
It was the start of a very spoiled life for the resilient rescue pup.
A Foster Fail

It didn’t take long for the couple to realize that Moose wasn’t going anywhere.
Logan quickly admitted, “Honestly, I want him.”
Hailey fully agreed, and just a week later, she proudly introduced Moose as her rescue dog.
He even earned a whole list of affectionate nicknames, including Mr. Moose, Moosie, Moosie-Moo, and Moosie-Mae.
Healing Like A Champ

With a permanent home secured, the couple set out to spoil Moose with new toys.
They bought him a KONG ball and, fittingly, a plush moose toy, which he absolutely loved.
Surrounded by love and comfort, Moose healed beautifully from his amputation.
“He has healed like a champ with his surgery,” Hailey shared proudly.
Meant To Be

Today, Moose runs and plays as if he doesn’t even know he has only three legs.
He loves tossing pinecones around the yard, showing off his energetic and playful spirit.
Looking back at his journey from a painful, twice-returned shelter dog to a beloved family member, Hailey knows it was fate.
“100% meant to be, because everything just fell into place so easy,” she said.
