A Timid Soul
When a gentle dog named Pippa first arrived at the shelter, it was clear she had already lived a difficult life. She was incredibly timid and shy, unsure of the world around her.
At just two years old, she had already had babies. This was a heartbreaking reality, as responsible breeders wait much longer before allowing a dog to have a litter.

Retreating to Safety

Today, the two dogs are completely devoted to one another. They mirror each other’s movements throughout the house.
If Maverick jumps up onto the bed, Pippa is right behind him to do the exact same thing. They constantly need to be touching each other, sharing a profound sense of security.
They also love to play fight, burning off their energy together like two carefree puppies.
The Sweetest Little Hippo
With Maverick by her side, Pippa has blossomed into a joyful and outgoing companion.
Her mom lovingly calls her a “little hippo” and nearly named her that when they first met. Everywhere they go, people describe Pippa as an absolute angel.
She now happily asks for attention, opening up her belly and pawing at her mom for pets while her tail wags with pure excitement.
The Missing Piece
Because their mom works from home, the dogs get to spend almost all of their time together.
Occasionally, they have to be separated during important work meetings. But the moment the door opens, they immediately run back to each other for snuggles and cuddles.
