Virginia Man Thought A Second Dog Would Calm His Giant Mastiff, But He Had No Idea What He Was Starting
A massive 235-pound Mastiff named Pooh Bear was already a handful. But when his Virginia dad adopted a little brother to help settle him down, the two dogs quickly turned into a hilarious duo.
A Pillow-Sized Puppy

When his dad first brought him home, Pooh Bear was just a tiny puppy. He heard about the dog through word of mouth, and the little pup was only about the size of a fluffy pillow.
It was love at first sight for the proud new dog dad. During those early days, there were absolutely no concerns about the puppy’s behavior.
Sure, the little dog might nibble on a flower here and there, but he was mostly just a sweet, innocent companion. His dad had no idea just how massive his new best friend was destined to become.
A Toddler In A Giant Body

Fast forward a bit, and Pooh Bear grew far beyond expectations. The once-tiny puppy blossomed into a staggering 235-pound Mastiff.
Despite his massive frame, Pooh Bear’s personality didn’t mature quite as much as his body did. His dad fondly describes him as being just like a toddler stuck in a giant dog’s body.
The huge Mastiff even learned how to throw tantrums just to get a reaction out of his dad. It was clear that managing a dog of this size was going to be a unique challenge.
The Swimming Pool Parade

As Pooh Bear grew, so did the scale of his hilarious antics. His massive size meant that everyday objects suddenly became oversized chew toys.
One day, Pooh Bear managed to get ahold of a swimming pool that was sitting out in the backyard. Instead of just playing in it, the giant dog picked it up and started parading it around the yard.
His dad watched in disbelief as the Mastiff proudly marched with the pool. At the time, he thought the mischief couldn’t possibly get any worse than that.
Caught In The Act

Unfortunately for his dad, he was completely wrong about Pooh Bear’s limits. The giant dog’s antics only continued to grow right alongside his impressive size.
Soon, the Mastiff was finding new ways to cause trouble around the house. He started chewing on pillows and even munching on the wooden window trim.
When his dad would catch him doing something he shouldn’t, like climbing up onto a table, Pooh Bear would just look at him. His expression always seemed to say, “Hey, Dad, my bad.”
A Plan For Peace

Realizing that he had his hands full with a 235-pound toddler, the dad started brainstorming solutions. He wondered how he could channel some of that giant energy into something positive.
He eventually decided that it might be a good idea to bring another dog into the family. He hoped a companion would keep Pooh Bear occupied and maybe even calm him down.
Through a friend, he heard about a dog that was coming up for rescue. In a twist of fate, the rescue dog’s name was Yogi Bear.
Enter Yogi Bear

The dad officially adopted Yogi Bear, hoping this new addition would bring some balance to the household. At first, everything seemed to be going exactly according to plan.
Yogi Bear was incredibly sweet in the beginning, and the two dogs immediately bonded with one another. It looked like Pooh Bear had finally found the perfect little brother.
But that sweetness was short-lived. The dad soon realized that instead of calming each other down, the dogs were actually inspiring each other.
Batman And Robin

Once they were comfortable, the mischievous behavior really started to come out. The two dogs quickly formed an alliance against their dad’s clean house.
His dad jokes that the duo is like Batman and Robin, teaming up on a mission to take him down. Pooh Bear even started teaching his little brother his bad habits, like how to stand on things.
Because Yogi Bear is smaller, he can get into places that his giant brother can’t. On one unbelievable occasion, the dad even found Yogi hiding inside the dryer.
Fire And Water

The two dogs have completely opposite, yet perfectly complementary, personalities. Yogi is the fire—the little dog who acts like he’s the biggest guy in the room.
Meanwhile, Pooh is the water—the massive dog who has absolutely no idea how big he truly is. Together, they are a lot to handle, constantly keeping their dad on his toes.
Despite the chewed window trim and the daily chaos, their dad wouldn’t change a single thing. As he perfectly puts it, he can always buy another window, but he could never buy another Pooh Bear or Yogi Bear.
