California Kitesurfer Adopts A Street Dog From Russia And Is Stunned By What She Wants To Do At The Beach
When a professional kitesurfer adopted a street dog from halfway across the world, she never expected her new best friend would want to share her favorite extreme sport.
A Distant Beginning

Before she knew the joy of running along sandy shores, this sweet dog had a much harder life. She was originally found wandering the streets of Russia as a stray.
When a professional kitesurfer decided to adopt her, she didn’t know much about the dog’s difficult past. All she knew was that she wanted to give the pup a loving home.
It was a huge leap of faith for both of them. But it wouldn’t take long for the two to realize they were meant to be together.
Straight To The Beach

The moment the dog arrived from her long journey, her new mom was there waiting for her. “I took her from the airport, and we went straight to the beach,” she recalled.
It was the dog’s first introduction to her new mom’s world. The ocean breeze and open sand were a stark contrast to the Russian streets.
Despite all the recent changes, the dog was incredibly brave. She took in her new surroundings with a sense of wonder.
An Instant Connection

For a dog who had been through so much transition, she was remarkably trusting. “I leashed her, but from the beginning, she never left my side,” her mom shared.
They were best friends right from the start. The dog found immediate comfort in the presence of her new owner.
Every time they visited the beach, the dog would start running alongside her mom. She was happy just to be included in the adventure.
Fascination With The Sky

As a professional kitesurfer, the woman spent a lot of time setting up her gear on the beach. Her new dog watched the process with intense curiosity.
“As soon as she sees the kites, she gets super excited,” her mom explained. The bright colors and movement in the wind seemed to captivate the pup.
She would watch her mom head out into the water, her eyes glued to the action. The dog’s excitement made it clear that she loved beach days just as much as her owner.
Following Her Into The Water

About two or three weeks after the adoption, the kitesurfer went out on a calm lagoon. She made sure to stay where her dog could see her from the shore.
But watching from the sand wasn’t enough for this adventurous pup. “She wanted to follow me and went swimming after me,” her mom said.
Seeing her dog paddle out into the water was a surprise. It showed just how deeply the dog wanted to be by her side.
A Leap Of Faith

Seeing her dog swimming out to her gave the kitesurfer an idea. She had a good feeling about her dog’s comfort level in the water.
“I thought, ‘What if I lift her up and I just put her on top of me and see if she wants to come?'” she recalled.
It was a gentle experiment. If the dog was scared, they could easily head back to the safety of the shore.
Enjoying The View

To her absolute amazement, the dog loved it. “I did it, and she was, like, so happy!” her mom said, admitting she hadn’t expected such a positive reaction.
The dog didn’t panic or try to jump off. She just stayed perfectly balanced and calm on the board.
“She’s looking around and enjoying the view,” her mom noticed. It was a beautiful, peaceful moment shared between them out on the water.
Sharing A Beautiful Life

Today, the former street dog is a regular on the kitesurfing board. “It feels like we’re sharing the same passion,” her mom said with a smile.
The journey from the streets of Russia to the sun-soaked waves has been nothing short of incredible. “Wherever I go, she follows,” her owner shared.
They have formed a bond that goes beyond just pet and owner. “She feels a bit like she’s my child,” the kitesurfer said. “She’s my everything.”
