Texas Dog With Broken Teeth And A Tiny Tongue Waits For Someone To Take A Chance
When a dog with a ‘little gremlin face’ popped up on Corey’s radar, she knew she had to help. Despite his heartbreaking past and severe medical issues, Beasley was about to find the perfect family.
A Face That Stood Out

When Corey first saw a photo of a Texas dog with a “little gremlin face,” she was instantly captivated.
She couldn’t help but wonder who this unique pup was and what kind of life he had lived before that moment.
But the reality of his past was much darker than his sweet expression suggested.
Beasley was a dog who desperately needed someone to take a chance on him.
A Heartbreaking Discovery

Beasley had been found tied up and completely abandoned by whoever had him before.
He was severely underweight, his body showing the clear signs of long-term neglect.
The poor dog also suffered from significant dental issues that required immediate attention.
Rescuers later realized his teeth were broken because he had been forced to eat trash just to survive.
Running Out Of Time

Because of his severe medical condition, Beasley was placed on the shelter’s urgent placement list.
His chances of leaving the shelter were dwindling by the minute, simply because his care would be intensive.
Thankfully, Dizzy Dog Animal Rescue stepped in and tagged him just in time.
He was placed into a loving foster home where he could finally get his medical issues figured out and cleared up.
Convincing A Reluctant Partner

Once Beasley was medically cleared and ready for adoption, Corey knew she wanted him.
However, her partner, Andrew, was hesitant and initially said “absolutely not.”
They already had their hands full with their other dog, Roman, and adding another medical-case rescue seemed overwhelming.
When the rescue asked for their plan, Corey bought some time, promising Andrew she would make it work. Eventually, Andrew gave in.
The Perfect First Meeting

The moment they finally met Beasley in person, all of Andrew’s doubts began to melt away.
The sweet dog approached them with his tail wagging, actively looking for pets and affection.
When they opened the car door, he jumped right in, as if to say, “Let’s go.”
As soon as he arrived at their house, he made himself right at home, acting as if he was just waiting for dinner to be served.
A Tiny Tank With Quirks

In person, Beasley turned out to be a lot smaller than Corey had imagined from his rescue photos.
She joked that she wanted a refund, calling him a “little tiny tank” who weighed in at a solid 57 pounds.
As he settled in, his adorable quirks began to shine through.
Corey always knows when he is truly comfortable because the tip of his tongue sticks out of his mouth.
Holding Hands And Daydreaming

Beasley loves to snuggle with his favorite toys, but his connection with his humans is even stronger.
Corey notes that he has incredibly human-like qualities, especially in the way he asks for affection.
He will gently reach out his paw to hold his family’s hands, a gesture that melts Corey’s heart every single time.
He will also sit and lovingly daydream into their eyes, causing Corey to experience what she calls “cute aggression.”
Neighborhood Mental Notes

Despite everything he went through, Beasley absolutely loves people.
When Corey takes him out on walks, he pays close attention to anyone who gives him a friendly greeting.
Corey feels like he makes mental notes of the friendly neighbors.
On future walks, he will purposefully go to those specific houses and wait at their driveways for his hello.
The Art Of The Perfect Nest

When it is time to rest, Beasley takes his sleeping arrangements very seriously.
He is a dedicated “nester” who will spend many minutes pawing and spinning to make his bed just right.
Once the blankets are perfectly arranged, he always tucks his nose in—an absolute must-have for his nesting routine.
Once the nose is tucked, Corey knows Beasley is officially on “do not disturb” mode.
Never Left Out Again

Today, Beasley is in great health and radiates what Corey describes as “older dog vibes.”
He is incredibly go-with-the-flow, happy to just be part of a family that loves him.
Corey knows that at some point in his past, Beasley was likely left out and left behind.
Now, her ultimate goal is to make sure he is always having fun, always feels included, and never has to feel left out ever again.
