California Dog Refused To Leave Her Skittish Best Friend Behind Until A Desperate Rescue Brought Them Back Together
A friendly stray pittie was desperate for human affection, but she refused to leave her skittish husky best friend behind. It took a dedicated team to get them both off the streets and back into loving arms.
A Cry For Help

When a man named Nima spotted a stray pittie on a California street, the dog immediately began crying out to him.
She was incredibly friendly and desperate for human affection, drinking the water he offered with deep gratitude.
However, Nima quickly realized that this sweet girl wasn’t wandering the streets alone.
She was fiercely bonded to a husky friend who was far too terrified to get near any humans.
Refusing To Leave Her Friend

Even though the pittie clearly wanted to be rescued, she absolutely refused to abandon her skittish companion.
The two dogs were literally roaming the streets together, relying entirely on each other for safety and comfort.
Nima knew he couldn’t just take the friendly dog and leave the husky behind to fend for herself.
He kept leaving food and water out for the pair while he tried to come up with a plan to rescue them both safely.
A Safe Yard For The Night

The dogs’ situation took a hopeful turn one night when they approached a neighbor’s property.
It seemed as though they were asking if they could go inside his gated yard for a moment of peace.
The neighbor allowed them in, giving the exhausted pair a safe place to rest for the evening.
When morning came, the sweet pittie, now named Hope, was still there and incredibly happy just to be near a home.
A Painful Discovery

As the neighbor spent a little time with Hope, he noticed something concerning about her face.
She appeared to be suffering from some sort of terrible eye infection that needed immediate medical attention.
Knowing the dog needed help, the neighbor called Nima to come get her and take her to a veterinary clinic.
Nima arrived, offering gentle pets and reassurance to the sweet girl who had endured so much.
A Much-Needed Spa Day

Unfortunately, the skittish husky had eluded rescue yet again, slipping away before they could secure her.
Despite the temporary separation, rescuers knew it was time to bring Hope in from the streets to start her healing journey.
They managed to get her into a mobile grooming van for her first real bath in a long, long time.
She was quite stinky, but she remained sweet and appreciative to everyone, making it obvious that she had once been somebody’s beloved pet.
The Missing Piece

While Hope was getting clean and comfortable, the rescue team hadn’t given up on her best friend.
Cathi Perez, a professional dog rescuer, stepped in to help track down the elusive husky, named Angel.
Using her expertise, Cathi was finally able to safely trap Angel and bring her in from the cold.
The two best friends were beautifully reunited at the vet’s office, their stressful days on the streets finally behind them.
The Heartbreaking Truth

At the vet, the rescuers finally learned the heartbreaking story of how these two beautiful dogs ended up homeless.
Their previous owners had been picked up by ICE, and the dogs were tragically left out on the street.
They had been surviving on their own for a couple of months before Nima and the rescue team intervened.
During her exam, the vet noted that Hope’s eyelids were rolling inward, a painful condition known as entropion, which explained her terrible eye issues.
Finding Safety At The Rescue

Once they received the medical attention they desperately needed, Hope and Angel were transferred to Stacy Hope Rescue.
They finally had soft beds, regular meals, and the safety they had been searching for.
While the two dogs loved each other dearly, it became clear that Angel needed specialized help to overcome her fears.
Angel was sent to a board and train facility to help her gain confidence and learn to trust humans again.
Ready For A Family

With Angel away at training, Hope’s incredibly friendly personality truly began to shine.
Because she loved every single person she met, she was officially promoted to the rescue’s “lobby greeter.”
Eventually, Hope was placed in a loving foster home where she is currently learning how to be a cherished family member once again.
Both Hope and Angel are now looking for their forever homes in LA, and while they would love to be adopted together, they are ready to find love separately if it means getting the second chance they deserve.
