New York Dog Survived A Terrible Accident And Gets The Special Date His Heart Deserves
Snaggle the senior tripod dog survived a terrifying car accident. Now, he’s showing off his sweet personality on a very special date.
A Brave Survivor

Ten-year-old Snaggle has been through more than most dogs will ever experience in a lifetime. The sweet senior dog was brought into a New York animal shelter after a terrifying ordeal.
He had been hit by a car, a devastating accident that ultimately changed his life forever. To save him, veterinarians had to amputate one of his legs.
Despite the trauma, Snaggle refused to let the hardship break his spirit. He has been living his new “tripod life” for a few months, proving to everyone just how resilient a senior dog can be.
Leaving The Kennel Behind

Snaggle used to wake up every morning in a loud, stressful shelter environment. It was no place for an older dog trying to heal from a major surgery.
Thankfully, a dedicated foster dad stepped up to give him a comfortable place to recover. Now, instead of waking up behind kennel bars, Snaggle starts his day taking peaceful walks with his foster dad.
He also gets to end every day exactly how a senior dog should. Snaggle loves cuddling up in a very soft, warm bed every single night.
A Very Special Date

To help this brave boy find his forever home, Snaggle was set up on a “Dream Date” with actor Jack Champion. Jack, an animal lover who grew up with dogs, was thrilled to meet the special senior.
The date involved different jars filled with treats for Snaggle and conversation starters for Jack. It was the perfect way to let Snaggle’s unique personality shine.
Right away, Jack made his feelings about dogs known. “If someone doesn’t like dogs… I mean, what’s wrong with you?” he joked, adding that it would be an absolute deal-breaker for him.
Blueberries And Paw Taps

As the date progressed, Snaggle’s funny little quirks quickly came to light. When Jack offered him a blueberry from the first jar, the dog was completely unimpressed.
Snaggle politely but firmly ignored the fruit, prompting a laugh from Jack. “That’s fair. I never liked my fruits and veggies either,” the actor admitted.
But Snaggle isn’t just picky about his snacks; he also has rules about affection. His ultimate “green flag” is anyone who keeps petting him after he gives them a gentle paw tap.
A Mighty Spirit

While he might not like blueberries, Snaggle was absolutely thrilled when special dog-safe cookies made an appearance. He happily munched on the peanut butter treats, showing off his signature wide smile.
Jack, who stars in the upcoming movie “Avatar: Fire and Ash,” was asked what kind of role Snaggle would play in the film’s universe.
He didn’t hesitate to compare the brave tripod to one of the franchise’s majestic creatures. “He’s giving banshee vibes, for sure,” Jack said. “Like this mighty spirit. You can sense it.”
A Beautiful Connection

The date took a gentle, emotional turn when Jack reflected on the animals in his own life. He shared that he recently lost his childhood dog, Sierra, who was genuinely like a sister to him.
Jack noted that Snaggle shares a very similar energy to the dog he loved so dearly. “He gives the same calm loyalty that Sierra had,” Jack explained.
Looking at the sweet senior dog, Jack knew that Snaggle had so much love left to give. “I think anyone would be insanely lucky to have Snaggle in their life,” he added.
Stepping Into The Future

As the date wrapped up, Jack had one final surprise for his new furry friend. He pulled out matching bandanas for both of them to wear.
Sporting their new accessories, Jack joked that they were taking over the Fashion District of New York. “It’s not ‘The Devil Wears Prada.’ It’s ‘The Snaggle Wears Paw-da,'” he laughed.
Snaggle survived the unthinkable, and despite losing a leg, he never lost his ability to trust. As Jack perfectly summed it up, “He has such a pure, happy soul. Like, he deserves the world.”
