French bulldogs are notoriously poor swimmers, but a little dog named TJ had a different plan in mind in Florida. With careful guidance and a lot of heart, he proved that stereotypes can be broken.
An Unusual Fascination
It started with a simple, quiet curiosity.
Whenever his family spent time up near the pool in Florida, their French bulldog, TJ, would find his way to the water’s edge.

Before he ever touched the water, TJ found his own way to enjoy the pool.
He started stepping out onto the pool cover, gently bobbing up and down with the ripples beneath him.

Eventually, he graduated to launching himself off the edge, jumping straight into the water all on his own to the sound of cheers from his proud family.

Today, TJ’s love for swimming has expanded far beyond the backyard pool.
Now, this brave little Frenchie goes into any body of water he sees.
When his family takes him to a nearby river, he happily bounds in and out of the current. And when they visit the beach, he runs as fast as his little legs can carry him straight into the sea, enjoying the water any and everywhere he goes.
