New York Woman Watches Her Huge Bullmastiff Pick Up A Stuffed Animal And Realizes He Still Has One Puppy Habit

This massive New York bullmastiff has a head that turns heads, but his favorite puppy habit proves he’s nothing more than a gentle giant who just wants to cuddle.

A Very Specific Wish

When you bring a bullmastiff into your home, you know you are signing up for a large, powerful dog. But for one dedicated dog mom, she had a very specific vision for her future best friend.

She always joked that she “manifested” her perfect dog. “When I get a bullmastiff, I want him to have a huge head,” she recalled wishing.

When Meech was just a little puppy, it didn’t look like he was going to grow into those massive proportions. He was just a standard, adorable little pup finding his footing in the world.

But as the months passed, Meech began to grow—and grow, and grow. Soon, it became clear that her manifestation was coming true in a very big way.

A Head That Turns Heads

Today, Meech is a towering, muscular dog with a presence that commands attention. And true to his mom’s wish, his head is absolutely massive.

“Meech’s head is insane,” his mom laughed, noting how comical it looks compared to other dogs. It is one of his most defining and lovable features.

Because of his sheer size, people are often taken aback when they first spot him. A dog with that much bulk can easily look intimidating to a stranger.

But anyone who spends more than a few seconds with Meech quickly realizes that his tough exterior is a complete illusion.

Zero Personal Space

The truth about Meech is that he desperately wants to be a lapdog. In his mind, he is still that tiny puppy who can easily curl up on someone’s knees.

He has absolutely no concept of personal space. When he wants affection, he simply climbs right on top of his favorite people.

When asked how she can even breathe with such a massive dog laying on her, his mom just smiled. “It’s the best,” she admitted.

She loves the heavy, grounding weight of his cuddles. She suspects her willingness to let him crush her with love is exactly why he tries to do it to everyone else, too.

Overcoming The Stigma

There is definitely a stigma surrounding large, powerful breeds like bullmastiffs. People often assume they are aggressive or hard to handle.

But Meech’s mom believes that reputation is entirely unfair. “Really, it comes down to how they’re raised and how they’re socialized,” she explained.

Meech is incredibly intuitive about how people perceive him. He has actually learned to slowly approach strangers so he doesn’t startle them.

Because of his polite, gentle introductions, people usually go from being scared to being absolutely thrilled to meet him.

Scared Of The Silly Things

Despite his impressive stature, Meech is far from a brave guard dog. In fact, he is famously afraid of the most random, weird things.

He has a deeply innocent soul and simply doesn’t understand the physical power he holds. To him, the world is still full of mysterious and spooky surprises.

Instead of puffing out his chest, his first instinct is usually to seek comfort from his mom. He relies on her to tell him that everything is safe.

It is this stark contrast between his muscular build and his timid personality that makes him so endearing to everyone he meets.

Holding Onto His Puppy Days

Nothing proves Meech’s gentle nature quite like his favorite daily habit. Ever since he was a little puppy, he has loved to suckle on his stuffed animals.

While other dogs might be aggressive toy destroyers, Meech prefers to hold his plushies gently in his mouth to self-soothe.

He still does it all the time as a massive adult dog. He will even lovingly suckle on a tiny, leftover scrap of a toy as if it were a prized possession.

Watching a giant bullmastiff gently nursing a scrap of fabric is enough to melt even the hardest of hearts.

The Pajama King

To add to his baby-like persona, Meech’s mom loves to dress him up. She frequently puts him in adorable, oversized dog pajamas.

“I know people think I’m crazy, but he doesn’t mind,” she laughed. Dressed in his cozy outfits, he looks exactly like the giant baby he is.

He is also a king who knows exactly what he wants. During the summer, his stubborn side comes out when he finds a comfortable spot outside.

He will simply sit in the yard and refuse to move, living his best, most relaxed life while his mom watches in amusement.

The Luckiest Girl

Raising a dog of Meech’s size comes with its own unique set of challenges, but his mom wouldn’t trade a single second of it.

The gentle giant has brought an immeasurable amount of joy, laughter, and heavy cuddles into her daily routine.

“I feel like the luckiest girl. I really do, because he has changed my life,” she shared with a warm smile.

To the rest of the world, he might look like an intimidating bullmastiff. But to her, he will always be the sweet, toy-suckling baby who became her very best friend.
