California Dog Adopted Into A House Full Of Rescued Rabbits Starts To Believe He Is One Of Them
A sweet rescue dog in California finds his forever home with a family of rabbits and decides the best way to fit in is to become a bunny himself.
A Growing Family

Sometimes, rescuing one animal in California leads to a cascade of unexpected surprises.
A couple of years ago, an animal lover decided to open her home to a sweet rescue bunny named Bun Bun.
At the time, she had no idea that her new furry friend was hiding a little secret.
Bun Bun turned out to be pregnant, and soon, the household welcomed three tiny babies into the world.
Room For One More

The family happily raised the unexpected litter, making sure all the bunnies grew up healthy and loved.
Once the baby rabbits were fully grown, the house felt settled, but their owner felt there was still room for more love.
They decided it would be wonderful to add a dog to their unique family dynamic.
With an open heart, they headed out to a local adoption event to see who might be waiting for a second chance.
Meant To Be

At the adoption event, one particular face stood out from the crowd.
A sweet dog named Finn immediately caught his future mom’s eye.
“I saw Finn popped up, and I was like, ‘This is the one,'” she recalled.
Just like her experience rescuing Bun Bun years prior, finding Finn felt entirely meant to be.
A Confusing Introduction

Bringing a dog into a house full of rabbits requires patience and careful supervision.
When Finn was first introduced to the resident bunnies, the reception was a mix of curiosity and confusion.
Bun Bun, the matriarch of the group, was completely baffled by the new arrival.
“Bun Bun was like, ‘What is this thing you brought into my house?'” her owner laughed.
Warming Up To The Giant

The three younger rabbits were also quite hesitant about the large, new creature in their space.
Finn was much bigger than them, and it took time for everyone to understand that they were safe.
Their owner made sure that all interactions were closely monitored.
They never spend time together unsupervised, ensuring everyone remains comfortable and secure.
Picking Up New Habits

As the days passed, the initial hesitation melted away into a calm coexistence.
But then, Finn started doing something entirely unexpected.
Spending every day watching his long-eared siblings, the observant dog began to mimic their behavior.
When he saw the bunnies happily munching on celery, Finn decided he needed to chew on celery sticks, too.
The Hopping Dog

Finn’s dedication to fitting in didn’t stop at his new vegetable diet.
He began to adopt the physical mannerisms of a rabbit, developing a distinct bounce in his step.
“You could definitely see a lot of bunny traits in him,” his mom noted.
He would happily wander into the bunnies’ room and literally hop alongside them, proudly showing off his new skills.
A Mother’s Love

The most heartwarming development has been the special bond between Finn and the original rescue bunny.
Despite her initial confusion, Bun Bun has grown incredibly close to the sweet dog.
In fact, her owner believes that the mother rabbit now sees Finn as just another one of her kids.
It is a beautiful sight to watch these two entirely different species communicate and get along so perfectly.
Living Their Best Lives

What started as a single rabbit rescue has blossomed into a beautiful, blended family.
Their mom is already dreaming of the future, hoping to eventually give them an even bigger space to roam and hop together.
For now, the house is filled with love, celery sticks, and a lot of happy bouncing.
“Just want them to be very happy and live their best lives,” she shared.
