California Dog Smelling Like Every Bad Odor Combined Patiently Waits For Rescuers To Reach His Skin
Rescuers knew they had to act fast when they found a dog trapped in painful, foul-smelling mats. After a dramatic shave-down, the grateful pup revealed his true self—and quickly stole the hearts of his new foster family.
A Heartbreaking State
When California rescuers first laid eyes on the neglected dog, his condition was absolutely heartbreaking. He looked incredibly miserable, weighed down by a thick shell of tangled, dirty fur.
The poor pup was so heavily matted that he barely looked like a dog at all. His rescuers knew they had to help him immediately, asking for their grooming supplies to be brought straight from the car.
It took the frightened dog a few minutes to get used to the strangers approaching him. But deep down, his rescuers felt that he understood they were there to save him.

Finding An Opening

Bringing a rescue dog home always requires patience, especially when they have a history of trauma. Lenny’s foster mom was told that he was very afraid of men.
She warned her husband and son before bringing Lenny inside. She told them they would have to do a very slow introduction to avoid overwhelming the timid dog.
