Tennessee Woman Wants To Adopt A Traumatized Dog, But There’s One Big Problem With Bringing Him Home

A Heartbreaking Discovery
When rescuers first laid eyes on Liam, the sight was absolutely devastating.
The poor dog was found abandoned behind a dumpster, terrified and completely alone in the world.
It was immediately clear that he had survived a traumatic past.
He had hundreds of bite marks covering his face and neck, leading rescuers to assume he had been used as a bait dog.
A Broken Spirit
The physical scars were only part of Liam’s tragic story.
Inside, you could tell he was a very broken and very scared animal.
He was taken in by the Street Dog Foundation, where he began the slow process of healing.

It didn’t take long for Liam to catch the eye of someone special.
When his future adopter first learned about him through the rescue, she felt an immediate pull.
“As soon as I saw him, there was just something about him that captured me,” she recalled.
She knew right away that she wanted to give this sweet boy the loving home he deserved.
A Crucial Test
However, there was one major hurdle to overcome before Liam could be officially adopted.
The rescue team warned her that Liam was a “dog selective” dog, meaning he didn’t always get along with other pups.
This was a concern because she already had a dog at home named Dahlia.
They decided to bring Dahlia over to the rescue for a proper meet-and-greet.

The adopter was understandably nervous about how the two dogs would react to one another.
