Missouri Dog Trapped In Abandoned House Finally Gets The Miracle He Deserves
A lonely dog was trapped on the second floor of an abandoned Missouri house just as a severe snowstorm approached. Thankfully, rescuers arrived just in time.
A Lonely Existence

A video clip circulating online showed a heartbreaking sight: a poor dog living entirely by himself in an abandoned house.
He had somehow found his way inside, seeking shelter in a place that offered no warmth and no comfort.
When a producer from The Dodo saw the footage, they knew they had to act quickly to get the lonely boy some help.
A Race Against the Storm

The producer immediately reached out to Donna from Stray Rescue of St. Louis.
The timing couldn’t have been more critical. St. Louis was bracing for a massive, incoming snowstorm.
Donna knew that with the plummeting temperatures, there was absolutely no time to waste.
Freezing on the Second Floor

When rescuers entered the dilapidated house, they made their way up to the second floor.
There, they found the large dog huddled and trembling. The wind was howling through the structure, making the cold unbearable.
Donna noted that she had barely been out there for five minutes, and her fingers were already freezing.
Earning a Timid Trust

The poor dog was incredibly nervous about his visitors. He was leery of the leash and unsure of their intentions.
Donna spoke to him softly, asking, “What’s the matter? Nervous?”
Despite his fear, his desire for help won out. He finally allowed Donna to slip the leash over his head.
The Scary Staircase

With the leash secured, they began the journey out of the house. But the stairs presented a terrifying obstacle.
When they reached a narrow corner on the staircase, the dog put the brakes on.
Donna explained that dogs often wander up to the second floors of abandoned buildings and then become too afraid to navigate the stairs back down.
A Brave Step Forward

The rescuers didn’t rush him. They offered gentle encouragement, telling him, “You got it! C’mon!”
Slowly but surely, the terrified dog found the courage to take those difficult steps.
Once he made it past the scary turn, he hurried down. He was definitely ready to be out of that freezing house.
Safe and Warming Up

They loaded the big boy into the rescue vehicle, where the heater was running.
“Are you getting warm?” a rescuer asked, petting him as he finally began to relax.
They knew the wind up on that second floor had been horrible, but now, he would never have to face the freezing cold alone again.
A Day Filled With Love

The rescue team brought him back to the shelter, where he was given a fitting name: Snow Megeddon.
Once he was safe, warm, and well-fed, his sweet personality began to shine through.
In a beautiful twist of fate, Snow Megeddon didn’t have to wait long for his happy ending. He officially found his forever home on Valentine’s Day, moving from a freezing, abandoned house to a life filled with love.
