When a team of animal advocates stumbled upon a neglected dog tied up and left to fend for herself, the reality of her situation hit them hard.
She was desperately trying to reach for food in a nearby bag of rubbish, unable to move freely.
Yet, despite the betrayal she had just endured, she wasn’t afraid of the humans approaching her to help.
A Cruel Abandonment
The rescue team named the sweet dog Lisa. They noted that she was in absolutely terrible shape, and it was clear this was not a condition that happened overnight.
The rescuers admitted that while they see a lot of suffering, finding Lisa made them cry.
It was incredibly cruel that someone had left her behind in such a vulnerable state.
They realized she had been tied up specifically so she couldn’t run after the people who had dumped her.
Rushed for Medical Help
Knowing she needed immediate medical intervention, the team rushed Lisa to the local vet clinic.
Upon examination, the veterinarian found that she was totally dehydrated and suffering from very bad mange.
Even more concerning, the initial tests revealed that Lisa had cancer in its early stages.
She was immediately placed on an IV at the clinic to help stabilize her fragile body.
A Tiny Tail Wag of Hope
Despite her exhaustion and illness, Lisa’s gentle spirit refused to be broken.
By just her second day at the clinic, she was already showing signs of improvement.
She had a bit more energy and began greeting her rescuers happily when they came to check on her.

Moving to the Safe House
After five days of intensive care, Lisa was finally strong enough to be discharged.
She was allowed to leave the clinic and traveled home to the rescue’s safe house.
At first, she was a bit overwhelmed with all the affection she was receiving from her new caretakers.
But as she realized she was safe, she allowed herself to be spoiled by everyone around her.

After one month at the safe house, she was finally strong enough to meet the rest of the rescue pack.
Being introduced to all the other dogs was a bit overwhelming for her at first.
However, the resident pack was very gentle with newcomers, and she settled in with them beautifully.
The Adventures of a Miracle Dog
Surrounded by love and canine friends, Lisa totally started to blossom.
She transformed into a playful teenager, always showing off her gentle and loving nature.
Today, she loves going on adventures, especially running at the beach, swimming with her friends, and digging in the sand.
