When a California backyard breeder abandoned a puppy with a rare genetic disorder, his future looked uncertain. But a fateful post on social media led to a beautiful second chance.
A Rare Genetic Disorder
When Rocky sleeps, you might notice something a little unusual about his posture.
His leg often rests in funny positions because he simply cannot bend it.
The sweet pup was born with a rare genetic disorder known as straight leg syndrome.
Essentially, it means he has a straight bone that refuses to bend, and unfortunately, there is no surgery or procedure that can change it.
Embracing The Quirks
While some might see his condition as a setback, his new family sees it entirely differently.
His mom lovingly refers to his condition as “cute leg syndrome.”
She firmly believes that his physical limitation doesn’t negatively affect his bright personality at all.
In fact, she considers it to be the most special thing about him.

He was originally dropped off and abandoned by a backyard breeder.
The breeder had never seen anything like his condition before and decided to give him up because of his disability.

When his fur goes up, his ears go straight back, and they do the same thing when he is overjoyed to see his mom.
He has become a total “mama’s boy,” always waiting patiently at the door whenever she leaves the house.
