Forgotten Ohio Dog Was Hidden Beside A Busy Road, But One Rescuer Decided To Take A Closer Look

Left tethered behind a line of trees in Ohio, a skinny and forgotten dog proved that her spirit was far from broken when help finally arrived.

Invisible To Passing Cars

It was a lonely situation for a sweet, skinny dog left all by herself in Ohio.

She was tethered to a fence with a regular leash, situated right next to a main road. However, her location made it nearly impossible for anyone to spot her.

The fence was lined with thick trees and bushes. If you were just driving by, she was completely hidden from view.

A Gentle Approach

Thankfully, a rescuer finally spotted the stranded pup and decided to step in.

Taking a few slow steps toward the dog, the rescuer started speaking in a soft, comforting baby talk. “Hey, little mama,” she called out.

The dog’s reaction was immediate and heartwarming. She instantly got “real wiggly” and super happy, proving she was more than ready for a friend.

Seeing her joyful, wiggly response, the rescuer knew it was safe to approach and help her break free.

The Ride To Safety

With the dog safely untied, the two walked together to the rescuer’s truck.

The first step in securing her future was to check if anyone was looking for her. The rescuer carefully scanned the dog for a microchip.

Unfortunately, she did not have a chip. With no family to contact, they headed back to the local shelter to get her the care she needed.

Making Friends At The Shelter

Once they arrived back at the shelter, the dog was gently unloaded from the truck.

Despite everything she had been through, she was eager to make new friends. Multiple officers came up to greet her, and she welcomed the attention.

She was incredibly polite and took treats very nicely from everyone’s hands. It was clear that she just wanted to be around people and be loved on.

Love At First Sight

It didn’t take long for this sweet girl to catch the eye of a potential adopter.

When she first came out to meet her new family, her tail was wagging non-stop. She immediately leaned in, wanting nothing but pets and affection.

For her new mom, that single moment was everything. “I just knew she was ours,” the adopter recalled.
