A New York foster mom goes above and beyond to give a special-needs puppy the freedom to bounce, play, and explore her world.
A House Transformed
Lindsay’s ultimate pet routine starts with a massive interior design change. She covers almost every floor in her house with padded blankets.
This isn’t for decoration, but to ensure her special foster puppy, Lily, can safely scoot from room to room.
“When I brought her home, I knew right away the house had to change for her,” Lindsay explained.
The very first thing she did was lay down the soft bedding to protect her new arrival.
Bouncing Like A Kangaroo
Lily was born a little different than the average pup. Her front legs are just two small nubs.
To get around, she relies on her incredibly strong back legs.
She moves by bouncing, looking almost like a tiny kangaroo as she navigates her environment.

Every time Lily bounces down, the ground needs to be soft enough so she doesn’t hurt her front nubs.

Generous volunteers reached out and created a custom 3D-printed cart just for the growing puppy.

Initially, Lily seemed to love her new wheels. She would happily “bebop” around in the cart.
However, her foster family soon noticed a shift in her preferences.
They realized she actually enjoyed the freedom of getting around on her own.
She preferred doing things her own unique way, without the restrictions of the wheels.
A Blossoming Personality
With her newfound confidence, Lily began hopping everywhere she wanted to go.
Her vibrant personality started to explode, filling the house with joy and playful energy.
She also developed a deeply special bond with her foster dad.
She loved spending time with him, soaking up all the attention a puppy could ever want.
