Nearly Hairless Stray Dog Dodged Texas Traffic While Facing A Painful Threat No One Would Expect

Junior and Bandit survived the unthinkable on Texas streets. Once they were finally safe, their true personalities began to shine through.

A Dangerous Game Of Survival

Every day was a terrifying gamble for two stray dogs named Junior and Bandit.

The pair were found roaming the busy streets, narrowly avoiding being hit by passing cars again and again.

They were simply trying to survive in a world that had offered them very little kindness.

Thankfully, someone finally stepped in to rescue them, pulling them away from the dangerous traffic and into safety.

The Toll Of The Streets

Once the two dogs were finally safe indoors, the reality of their situation set in.

It quickly became clear to their rescuers just how much they had already survived.

Bandit was in the worst condition of the two, showing the severe physical toll of his time outdoors.

He was literally skin and bones, a heartbreaking sight for anyone who looked at him.

Painful Sensitivities

Bandit’s struggles went far beyond just being underfed.

He had almost no fur left on his fragile body, leaving him completely exposed to the elements.

His condition was so severe that even the gentle touch of the sun on his skin could cause him pain.

Junior had a little more fur to protect him, but he was still incredibly skinny and in desperate need of care.

A Much-Needed Pedicure

Both boys were suffering from severe neglect, which was obvious when looking at their paws.

Rescuers immediately got to work providing relief, giving Bandit a much-needed “pedicure” to trim back the overgrown nails.

Despite everything he had been through, Bandit was actually pretty quick to accept affection from his caretakers.

He seemed to know he was finally in good hands.

Junior, on the other hand, was much more guarded.

He needed some more time and space to let people in and realize he was truly safe.

Unveiling Their True Selves

Their recovery took a massive amount of patience, dedication, and care from the staff.

But as the days passed, the boys became more comfortable in their new environment.

Everyone started to meet the wonderful dogs who had been hiding underneath all that trauma.

Bandit turned out to be incredibly smart, affectionate, and eager to learn new things.

A Goofy Cuddle Bug

Junior’s transformation was just as beautiful to witness.

Once he finally let his guard down, Junior became a huge, goofy cuddle bug.

He was always so happy, often walking around with his tongue happily hanging out of his mouth.

There is even a sweet video of Junior joyfully hopping around with one of the staff members, showing just how far he had come from day one.

Hoping For A Final Chapter

The incredible progress of both dogs led to a wonderful milestone for Junior, who has since been officially adopted.

Bandit, who doesn’t even look like the same dog anymore thanks to his stunning physical recovery, is still waiting for his forever home.

It’s pretty incredible to think that these two happy, loving boys are the same dogs who were once running through traffic.

After everything Bandit has overcome, his rescuers are hopeful that the next big chapter in his life is finally finding the family he deserves.
