When a rescue worker in St. Louis found a protective mother dog hiding her puppies in an abandoned house, it took patience and a gentle voice to bring them to safety.

For one brave mom dog in St. Louis, Missouri, keeping her puppies safe meant hiding them away in a freezing, abandoned house.
She was doing everything she could to survive, but she had no idea that help was finally on the way.
A Call for Help
The situation was dire when Donna, a dedicated rescuer from Stray Rescue of St. Louis, received an urgent call.
A mom dog and her vulnerable puppies were stranded in a cold, decaying building.
Knowing that time was of the essence, Donna quickly made her way to the location to try and save them.
Discovering the Hideout
Stepping into the dark, abandoned house, Donna carefully searched for the hidden family.
It didn’t take long to locate the room where the mother had tucked her babies away from the harsh weather.
"She’s actually in this room," Donna noted as she prepared to approach the fearful dog.
