New York Puppy Loses Her Shot At TV For Being Too Small, Then Her Day Takes A Completely Different Turn
A film crew in New York decided a tiny puppy was just too small for the camera. Fortunately, one woman on set realized the little dog was destined for a much bigger role in real life.
A Surprise On Set
Dasha was working at Brooklyn Law School, where the facility often rented out space to TV studios and film crews.
It was a busy environment, filled with the hustle and bustle of production teams moving equipment and setting up shots.
But on one particular day, the production brought in a very special, albeit tiny, guest.
No one could have predicted that this little visitor would completely change Dasha’s life.
Too Small For The Camera
Someone had brought a tiny puppy onto the set for filming.
However, the crew quickly realized there was a logistical problem with their adorable new talent.
The little dog was simply too small to show up properly on camera.
"She fit in my hand," Dasha recalled, marveling at just how petite the little nugget was.
An Unexpected Question
A little while later, a production assistant returned with the woman who had originally brought the puppy in.
They approached Dasha with a surprising offer: "Yep, you can have her."
Dasha admitted she had absolutely no background or knowledge about what she was getting into by taking in a dog.
Despite the suddenness of it all, she opened her heart to the tiny pup, who was fittingly named Brooklyn.
A Very Large Personality
Brooklyn may have been small, but she quickly proved she had a massive personality.
Dasha admits to spoiling the pup rotten, making sure she gets plenty of morning and nighttime cuddles.
The little dog adapted beautifully to her new life, even getting used to riding the train in New York City.
Growing up around Dasha’s loud Italian family, Brooklyn learned to thrive in noisy, vibrant spaces.
The Ultimate Emotional Support
According to Dasha, Brooklyn is incredibly "big on vibes" and intuitively knows how people are feeling.
This trait comes in especially handy during the fall football season.
Dasha’s boyfriend is a Patriots fan, which makes for some tense Sunday afternoons in their household.
Brooklyn sits right next to him through all the ups and downs of the game, acting as his dedicated emotional support pup.
Everything But A Dog
Dasha’s friends and family love to joke that Brooklyn is a mix of every animal except a dog.
She has the graceful mannerisms of a cat and the round belly of a potbelly pig.
Add in the stubborn attitude of a hippo and the black-and-white appearance of a cow, and you have Brooklyn.
However, her inner dog finally shines through whenever there is a ball around to chase.
The Half-Makeup Look
One of Brooklyn’s most striking features is her sweet, big puppy dog eyes.
Interestingly, one of her eyes has thick black lining around it, while the other is completely bare.
Dasha loves to joke about the unique marking to anyone who asks.
"I like to tell people that she just got tired when she was putting her makeup on in the morning," she laughed.
A Decade Of Adventures
The puppy who was once too small for a local TV shoot has since become a very well-traveled dog.
Dasha and her boyfriend have made it a point to give Brooklyn access to the great outdoors, taking her to an estimated 42 states.
Today, Brooklyn is almost 10 years old, a milestone that catches Dasha completely off guard.
Looking back on the day a film crew handed her a tiny puppy, Dasha can hardly believe how fast the beautiful years have gone.
