Pennsylvania Shelter Dog Gets A Giant Unicorn From Her Favorite Volunteer, And Her Reaction Says It All
Despite a devastating setback that cost her a forever home in Pennsylvania, this resilient shelter dog hasn’t let anything break her joyful spirit.
The Happiest Dog In The Shelter

Kylie is a Pennsylvania shelter dog who has waited far too long for a family to call her own.
Yet, despite the concrete walls and the endless days waiting in a kennel, her spirit remains completely unbroken.
She greets every single day with a wagging tail and a heart full of joy.
“She is seriously the happiest dog that I think that I have ever met,” her dedicated volunteer shares.
A Love For Squeaky Toys

Kylie’s absolute favorite thing in the world is getting a new stuffed animal.
Whenever she receives a toy, she is absolutely ecstatic, completely lost in her own joyful world.
She will squeak her new treasures endlessly, proudly showing them off to anyone who walks by.
Once she has a toy in her mouth, she is so focused on the fun that she hardly cares about anything else.
Shopping For A Special Girl

Because Kylie has been at the shelter for such a long time, her favorite volunteer believes she deserves extra special attention.
She often stops by Petco just to do a little bit of shopping specifically for the sweet pup.
“If I ever see a stuffed animal that I just know that she’s going to love, I pick it up,” the volunteer explains.
Even when they are apart, she is always thinking of Kylie and how to make her days brighter.
The Giant Unicorn Surprise

On one special shopping trip, the volunteer found a giant stuffed unicorn and knew it would be a massive success.
When she presented the oversized plush to Kylie, the dog was incredibly excited to see it.
In fact, Kylie loved it so much that she almost immediately tore off one of its ears.
As her volunteer noted with a laugh, the gentle destruction was done purely out of love.
A Dream Cut Short

For a brief, beautiful moment, it seemed like Kylie’s story had reached its perfect ending when she was finally adopted.
Her volunteer sobbed happy tears seeing a photo of the sweet dog sleeping peacefully on a carpeted floor in a real home.
Sadly, things took an unexpected turn shortly after her adoption.
Shortly after her adoption, Kylie suffered a severe leg injury.
A Heartbreaking Return

The medical costs for her sudden leg surgery were incredibly high.
Her new family simply couldn’t afford the unexpected expense, leaving them with an impossible choice.
With heavy hearts, they had to bring her back to the shelter.
It was a devastating setback for a dog who had already waited so long for a second chance, but her volunteer refused to give up.
Healing And Hoping

Back under the shelter’s care, Kylie received the medical attention she needed and has been recovering beautifully.
“She has been recovering, and she is doing really well,” her volunteer notes happily.
Because of her leg injury, Kylie has some specific needs for her future home to keep her safe and pain-free.
She will need to live on the first floor, as dealing with stairs long-term won’t be possible for her.
A Holiday Wish

Ideally, Kylie should be the only dog in her new household, but she has more than enough love to give.
She is described as the sweetest dog her volunteer has ever met, adoring everyone she meets, including children.
To help her find a new family, the volunteer has been posting Kylie’s story across social media, hoping to reach that one special person.
“That is my holiday wish, is that Kylie gets to go home for the holidays,” she says. “That is what she deserves.”
