A Heartbreaking Discovery
In Texas, they were living in a stranger’s front yard, completely exposed to the elements.
With no food or water in sight, the two dogs were growing weaker by the day.
The temperatures were rising, making their fight for survival even more desperate.
Rescuers knew they only had a few days to put a plan together and get them out of the unsafe area.

“The second that Joey showed me that dog, I knew I needed to reach out,” she explained.

Buttercup’s foster had never seen a dog so severely malnourished.
She knew the sweet pup needed intensive rehabilitation and around-the-clock care.
Every couple of hours, she provided Buttercup with small meals to safely rebuild her strength.

She went from a fragile 25 pounds all the way up to a healthy 45 pounds.

As Buttercup healed, her foster began looking for the perfect permanent home.
She wanted to ensure Buttercup would never end up back in a shelter or a bad situation.
Eventually, they found a wonderful potential adopter who already had two other dogs.
The adopter brought Buttercup around her brother to see how everyone would get along.
Tears Of Joy
The meet-and-greet went better than anyone could have hoped.
The adopter looked at the foster and simply said, “We want to adopt Buttercup.”
Overwhelmed with emotion and relief, the foster literally burst into tears.
