A Very Unusual Posture
For Nissa, coming home after a long, hard day at work means it is finally time to unwind.
She likes to settle in and watch her favorite television shows to decompress.
But when she looks over to the other side of the couch, she is often met with a hilarious sight.
Her dog, Cooper, will be sitting right next to her, positioned exactly like a human being.
The People Sit
Cooper has developed a very specific habit when it comes to lounging around the house.
Nissa notes that he only adopts this strange position when he is resting on human furniture.
Whenever he hops up onto the sofa, he immediately settles into what she playfully calls the “people sit.”

Nissa says he moves his eyebrows more than she has ever seen any dog move them before.

Because his face is so expressive, Nissa always knows when Cooper is upset with her.
If she catches him doing something he shouldn’t, like trying to sneak a bite of the cat food, she has to correct him.
Instead of barking or acting out, Cooper resorts to a hilarious form of pouting.
He refuses to look directly at her, choosing instead to stare straight ahead and just peek over at her from the corner of his eye.

When Cooper is truly feeling stubborn, his human-like sitting posture reaches a whole new level.
He will sit on the couch “crisscross applesauce,” completely turning his back to Nissa.
From that ridiculous position, he will glare at her over his shoulder.
Nissa admits that it is absolutely impossible to stay mad at a dog who pouts like a grumpy toddler.
