Tennessee Family Introduces Two Rescue Dogs And Cannot Believe What They See
Two rescue dogs with rough pasts find exactly what they need in each other when their Tennessee family realizes they are a perfect, lookalike match.
A Dangerous Beginning
They say that everyone has that one special “heart dog” in their lifetime. For Christina, that once-in-a-lifetime bond came in the form of a stout, short-legged rescue dog named Rosie.
But before Rosie was living a life of luxury and endless attention, she was just another stray in a dangerous situation.
Rosie was originally discovered wandering near a busy intersection. She wasn’t alone; she was found alongside another dog who looked exactly like her.
Rescuers suspected the two dogs were either mother and daughter or sisters. For their own safety, they were quickly scooped up and brought to local animal control.
A Second Chance Online
Christina couldn’t imagine how anyone could let a sweet dog like Rosie go. She wondered if the pup had simply escaped from a loving home and gotten lost.
Fortunately, a group called Pitty Love Rescue stepped in to pull her from the crowded animal control facility.
The rescue group wanted to give her the best chance at a fresh start. They posted Rosie’s photo online in hopes of catching the eye of a forever family.
The Velvet Hippo
When Christina first saw Rosie’s picture on the internet, she immediately started cracking up. The pup had incredibly short legs and a stout, adorable figure.
Christina affectionately called her a “little velvet hippo.” She and her husband knew they had to meet this unique dog in person.
It didn’t take long for them to fall completely in love. Soon after, they officially adopted the sweet dog and brought her home.
Unleashing Her Inner Diva
In her new home, Rosie quickly proved to be fiercely athletic, yet perfectly content being a total couch potato. However, she also revealed a hilarious alter ego.
Her family affectionately dubbed her inner diva “Mariah Carey.” Rosie proved to be a dog who absolutely demands the spotlight wherever she goes.
If she is in a room full of people and isn’t the center of attention, she will literally sit and cry until someone pets her. Even on walks, she expects royal treatment, whining if strangers pass by without stopping to give her affection.
A Boy From Tennessee
Christina and her husband had always wanted a two-dog household. Their search for the perfect sibling led them to Ralph, a dog waiting at a shelter in Tennessee.
Ralph had a heartbreaking past. He had been found wandering as a stray multiple times before finally landing in the shelter system.
When the shelter staff finally tracked down his previous family and called them to come pick him up, they simply never answered the phone.
An Unbelievable Resemblance
When the family introduced Ralph to Rosie, they were absolutely stunned. The two dogs matched perfectly, looking almost like identical twins.
They couldn’t believe the incredible physical resemblance between the two rescues. After that very first meet and greet, Christina knew Ralph was the missing piece to their family.
He fit right in with Rosie and the family’s cats. It was clear from day one that it was going to be a perfect match.
An Emotional Support Sister
It didn’t take long for Ralph to become completely obsessed with his new sister. Rosie immediately took on a motherly role with the former stray.
She constantly grooms Ralph whenever they lay down together. Even though they have their own separate beds, Ralph always manages to squeeze himself into Rosie’s bed to be close to her.
Christina happily notes that Rosie has become Ralph’s dedicated emotional support dog, helping him forget his lonely past.
Two Of A Kind
Today, Rosie rules the house as the undisputed queen. She still loves her short walks, though she will famously plop right down on the ground after half an hour and demand to be carried the rest of the way.
Christina talks to Rosie all day long, swearing the dog understands every single word. She says Rosie often looks like she’s about to talk right back to her.
While her life before the intersection remains a mystery, Christina knows they were meant to find each other. She jokes that Rosie is literally her in dog form, and together, they are the perfect match.
