Texas Dog’s Family Bought Her Water Bowls, But She Apparently Had A Completely Different Use In Mind
This confident, deaf Texas pup doesn’t let anything hold her back, especially when it comes to her unique way of cooling off.
A Dog Who Knows What She Wants

Franny is a dog who lives life entirely on her own terms.
According to her mom, Kathy, this little pup doesn’t seem to realize just how funny she truly is.
She goes about her day doing exactly what she wants, completely unapologetic about her choices.
Despite being 100% deaf, Franny is incredibly attuned to her surroundings and everything her family is doing.
Fiercely Independent

You simply can’t tell this spirited girl what to do.
Kathy describes her as a very confident and brave little dog with a mind of her own.
She is highly independent and never shy about expressing her opinions.
Her deafness has never stopped her from living a full, bold life.
Going Into Gremlin Mode

Like many energetic pups, Franny gets sudden bursts of energy.
When the zoomies hit, Kathy jokes that her dog goes into full “gremlin mode.”
She races around, burning off all that spunky energy.
But all that running around eventually leaves her feeling a little too warm.
The Outdoor Spa Treatment

To cool down, Franny developed a rather unconventional strategy.
She started sitting directly in her outdoor water bowls.
It didn’t matter what size the bowl was; she was determined to fit inside.
She would squeeze whatever part of her body she could into the water to get some relief from the heat.
Moving The Habit Indoors

It wasn’t long before Franny realized her trick could work anywhere.
She eventually recognized that she could bring her spa routine inside the house.
Now, anytime she gets a little “toast” from her zoomies, she heads straight for the indoor water bowl.
She plops right in, cooling herself down in the middle of the room.
Embracing The Quirk

Instead of fighting it, Kathy has completely embraced her dog’s quirky behavior.
The water bowl lounging has simply become a daily occurrence in their home.
Kathy says they have accommodated the habit, and it’s very rare that she’ll ever tell Franny to stop.
The confident pup just does her own thing, and her family loves her for it.
Calling For Elevator Service

Franny’s communication skills are just as unique as her cooling methods.
She may not be able to hear, but she is well aware that her humans can.
She has absolutely no problem telling everybody what to do when she needs something.
She will often bark loudly for what Kathy affectionately calls “elevator service” to get lifted on and off the bed.
A Living Stuffed Animal

When Kathy first saw Franny’s picture, she immediately knew this dog was special.
Today, the two share an incredibly strong and loving bond.
Kathy calls the sweet pup her sidekick, noting that she often looks like a “living stuffed animal.”
Franny has plenty of dog beds to choose from, but she usually prefers to be tucked under a blanket right next to Kathy—unless, of course, she’s in her water bowl.
Delivering Daily Smiles

Franny’s unapologetic lifestyle brings joy to everyone who meets her.
Kathy admits that everyone thinks her water bowl habit is both ridiculous and hilarious.
It consistently makes people smile, which is the main reason Kathy lets her keep doing it.
This brave, deaf little dog has found the perfect home where her unique spirit is celebrated every single day.
