Pennsylvania Dog Is Discarded By A Breeder After They Decide She Cannot Make Them Money
After a rough start in a breeder situation, a shy rescue dog learns how to trust, cuddle, and demand Cheerios in her loving new Pennsylvania home.
A Cruel Fate Averted

When the sweet, muscular dog first met her new family, she was incredibly shy. She seemed completely lost, looking around as if to ask, “What am I doing here? What’s going on?”
Her past was heartbreakingly transactional. She was originally meant to be used in a breeder situation, treated merely as a source of income.
When the people who had her realized she couldn’t make them any money, they made a drastic and cruel decision. They asked a veterinarian to euthanize her.
Thank goodness, the vet refused to end her life. Instead, the compassionate doctor saved her and sent her to a rescue in Pittsburgh, giving her a much-deserved second chance.
Learning What Love Is

After arriving from the Pittsburgh rescue, she finally ended up with her new family. However, the transition wasn’t an easy one.
Her new caretakers knew they had to be patient. They tried to give her the space she needed to start feeling comfortable in a real home.
It quickly became apparent that she had missed out on the basics of a normal dog’s life. She didn’t know how to be cuddled or pet, and she didn’t seem to understand what affection was all about.
Shadows Of The Past

The trauma of her past life lingered in her everyday reactions. Her family remembers how she behaved when she first came to live with them.
She would flinch the second someone stepped around her or bent down to pick something up. It was a heartbreaking reaction to witness.
It was as if she thought someone was trying to hit her. Seeing a dog live in that kind of fear was incredibly sad for her new family.
A Tearful Breakthrough

Despite her fears, the gentle environment slowly began to work its magic. She started to realize that the hands reaching out to her were only meant for kindness.
Her owner vividly remembers the very first time she approached them on her own terms. She came up specifically to ask to be pet.
It was a monumental milestone for a dog who hadn’t understood affection before. The beautiful moment was so overwhelming that it made her owner want to cry.
The Six O’Clock Tap Dance

Once she realized she was safe, her true personality began to shine. It turned out she was a remarkably warm and loving dog.
She also developed some adorable, quirky habits. For reasons unknown to her family, she has a very strict internal clock.
If her owner is late getting home after 6:00 p.m., she absolutely knows it. To show her impatience, she performs a little tap dance that she invented all on her own.
Cheerios And A Record-Breaking Tongue

Her love for food is just as strong as her love for her family. She has a particular weakness for Cheerios.
She doesn’t look like she can move very fast, but the sound of a cereal bag changes everything. The moment you open a bag of Cheerios, she will start running.
She also has a very unique physical trait: a massive, oversized tongue that hangs out of her mouth 24/7. In fact, her vet noted that it was the biggest tongue she had ever seen.
A Grumpy Little Meatball

While she is incredibly sweet, she isn’t afraid to show a little attitude. She occasionally gets into grumpy moods, especially when human food is involved.
If her family is eating and they don’t share a piece with her, she gets genuinely upset. She’ll sit on the ground and pout, making sure you know she’s mad at you.
Her owners affectionately describe her as a “meatball.” She is entirely muscle and completely ripped, making her a sturdy little companion.
From Fear To Complete Trust

Because she is built like a “brick house,” her new favorite sitting spot can be a bit of a hazard. She loves to sit directly behind people’s feet.
Guests who aren’t familiar with her habits often step back and practically trip over her, but she refuses to budge. It’s a stark contrast to the dog who used to flinch at every movement.
Now, she confidently sits right between her family’s feet or even right on top of them. Seeing her open up to people and learn to trust again has been a magical experience.
From a dog meant to be discarded to a beloved, confident family member, her journey has been incredible. It is truly beautiful to see just how far she has come.
