Milo isn’t your average California pup. With hair that just keeps growing, he’s become a canvas for beautiful braids and curls, sharing precious bonding moments with his devoted owner.
An Unexpected Transformation
When Milo first joined his California family, he looked like a fairly typical puppy. But as the weeks went by, his owner started to notice something unusual about his appearance.
The hair on the top of his head was getting surprisingly long. At first, it just made him look like he had a disproportionately big head.
Then, as it grew a little more, it started sticking straight up.
“It would get spikey, like a little rocker,” his owner laughed, recalling his awkward phase.
Blocking His View
The spiky rocker phase didn’t last long, but the hair growth certainly did.

The styling didn’t stop at just braids and buns.
His owner even tried putting his long locks into heatless curls, and to everyone’s amazement, the curls actually set perfectly.
To finish off the looks, she began collecting a tiny wardrobe of hair accessories.
“I have a lot of bows and little clips of, like, flowers, or butterflies,” she explained. “And it just adds the perfect touch.”
The Spa Day Experience
While the hairstyles look fantastic, the best part of the routine is how much Milo loves the process.
“You want to go fix your hair? Come on!” his owner will call out, and Milo happily obliges.
The gentle brushing and styling have become a soothing spa experience for the pup.
A lot of times, he gets so relaxed that he actually falls asleep while she is brushing him.
Never Wanting It To End
Milo’s love for his grooming sessions is obvious in how he reacts when they are over.
When his owner finishes brushing, she will tell him, “OK, I’m done.”
But Milo will just stay laying there, perfectly content and unmoving.
“You can go now,” she tells him, but he just looks back at her as if to say, “Why are you done?”
Facing the Critics
Naturally, not everyone understands the dedication it takes to maintain Milo’s fabulous hairstyles.
A few people have asked his owner why she takes so much time to do his hair.
Some have even made comments like, “You must not have kids if you’re doing all this to your dog.”
But to Milo’s owner, these grooming sessions are about much more than just taking cute photos.
Making Every Moment Count
For this devoted dog mom, the daily routine is a promise she made to herself long ago.
“I always told myself that if I was going to have a pet, I was always going to treat them like my baby,” she shared.
She knows that a dog’s time on earth is tragically brief compared to ours.
Because they don’t get to live a long time, she believes in spending every possible quality moment together—even if that means mastering the perfect Dutch braid for her best friend.
